The office building Metterswane on the square in front of the Nijmegen railway station is ready for an new life. The brutalist façade dating the 1970’s was considered to be inappropriate by most users and passers. Analysis of the site’s history and the surroundings brought forth a plan for reuse of the building. With the redesign of the building, a stronger urban element is created. It gives a consistency to this urban area where individual buildings ensure chaos.
